Oh Sunny Days

(Drawn to the path) I walked through the fields of sunflowers.
I am within myself-enamored-
By the warmth which the golden petals empower.

As I pass the flowers
My body is at ease
(Drawn to the path) I walked through the fields of sunflowers.

Hues of deep yellow tango with sandstone orange both confined and scattered.
My soul is warm.
I am within myself-enamored.

The gray-blue lines wrap around me.
Behind the flowers
Gates appear before me

Inside the gates
I am within myself-enamored-
The golden sunflowers comfort me in their embrace

By the warmth which the golden petals empower.
I gleefully walk through the fields of sunflowers.
Yearning for warmth
I keep staring forth.

  1. Wow! The phrase “I am within myself-enamored” is particularly striking. It suggests a deep sense of self-appreciation and inner peace that comes from this communion with nature. This self-love isn’t portrayed as narcissistic, but rather as a natural outcome of being in harmony with one’s surroundings.

Your description of the interplay between colors – “Hues of deep yellow tango with sandstone orange” – is especially evocative, bringing the scene to life in the reader’s mind. The mention of “gray-blue lines” and gates adds an intriguing element of structure or boundary within this natural setting, perhaps hinting at the interplay between freedom and limitation. Awesome job!
