I think I have finally found the woman of my dreams. She has long, honey brown hair, sky blue eyes, and the most beautiful smile I have ever seen. I could stare at her forever. It is so easy to forget everything around me whenever she is near. I can remember the day we first met as if it were yesterday. I was at the grocery store, standing in the checkout line, making small talk with the cashier about something about potatoes, I don’t know, when all of a sudden, something caught my eye. Two lanes over, a goddess was bagging up groceries. Her hair was in a messy braid, and she had on a pair of jeans that really complimented her figure, along with a t-shirt and apron with the store’s logo on it. At that moment, it felt like nobody else was there, just me and her. It felt like one of those slow motion moments in a romantic comedy or something. The stupid cashier had to ruin it by waving his hand in my face. She didn’t seem to notice me, but I took my time when leaving with my groceries to steal a quick glance of her. At this moment, I knew she had to be mine.
I went back the next day to see her. And the day after that. And every day that followed for the next week. There was just something special about her that drew me in. I would make myself look busy looking for groceries when another employee passed, I didn’t want to seem weird, of course. And I made sure there was a good distance between us. During the last visit, our eyes met. She smiled at me. Not one of those half-assed, “I am an employee and have to smile otherwise I’ll lose my job” smile. No, it was one of the “I seem to like you, let’s get to know each other” kind of smiles. It was the sign I needed to make my move.
I would consider myself a good boyfriend. I always make sure she gets home from school safely, it’s always so dark out when she gets out of class. When she is done with her classes for the day, I follow behind her in my car. She never asked me to do this, but I am a gentleman, and her safety is my top priority. There’s a lot of weirdos out there in this big city, and I can’t let her get abducted or something. I wait until she gets inside her house safely before I head back to my own place. Although most nights, I get so wrapped up in being with her that I don’t go home until the sun starts to rise. Sure, I’m tired the following day, but it is so worth it when I get to be with her. Watching her sleep soothes me. She has the cutest snore, and I love watching her put on her pajamas. Not in a weird way, of course. I just admire her body, and I think every boyfriend should be allowed to admire their girlfriend’s body. I swear, sometimes it feels like she’s giving me a private show. But I am respectful, I look, but never touch, at least not yet. I want the occasion to be special, and I’m sure she does too.
I give her gifts often. Roses, cards, teddy bears, anything. What can I say, I’m a giver, and love has no price tag. I once gave her a box of chocolates for valentine’s day. She looked around, confused, but seemed to enjoy the chocolates. I knew that she was appreciative of the gift, and that no other man could give her the things I could. I’d buy her the moon if she asked me to.. She deserves every good thing in the world, and I am going to be the one to give it to her. Surprising her with a gift is one of my favorite things to do. Oh, there she is now! Man, I can’t wait to see her reaction. It’s been 6 months since we first met, so I had to be sure I gave her something really special. I got her a bouquet of roses, a romantic card, and a hand drawn portrait of her sleeping. I can see her reading my message to her: “You are the light of my life, happy 6 months!” I really hope she likes the details I put into the portrait. She must really be excited to show her family the gifts. After she looked at the portrait, she darted her head around to look for me, but ran in the house. She is so adorable! I know how excited she must be for us to take the next step in our relationship.
I just hope that I can gain the courage to finally introduce myself someday soon.
